Ignacio began his career in law enforcement with Miami Dade Police Department (MDPD) where he led key divisions, investigated important cases, trained senior police officers abroad, and managed hundreds of sworn officers and civilian employees. While rising through the ranks, he attended NSU Florida and became a lawyer. After 25 years of honorable service, he retired as the Major of the Special Victims Unit and now devotes himself full-time to law. With over 15 years as an attorney, paired with his extremely unique skill set, Ignacio provides incredible insight from both sides of the law. He’s a brilliant litigator (often referred to as the Litigation King) and specializes in crisis management for civil and criminal matters, sensitive internal corporate and white-collar investigations, corporate governance and compliance, complex civil litigation, and political advocacy.
Although Ashley is not an attorney, Ashley brings over 15+ years of experience consulting for major retailers in consumer products, top manufacturing facilities in North America, first time entrepreneurs, and everything in between. She served as the President of the world’s largest and most successful angel investment group, Keiretsu Forum, which poised her for providing counsel to our corporate clients specifically looking for help in the areas of investment, due diligence, and M&A. Her superpower is bridging the gap between business and law to get results in the most efficient way possible. Since joining ALGO, the business sextupled in size with zero disruption.
John advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters. With his prior experience as the general counsel for a real-estate and technology start-up, he provides extensive advice on initial corporate formation, governance and compliance, and a whole host of other services vital to the day-to-day operation of modern businesses.
Michael is vastly knowledgeable in real estate law. For the last 7 years, he has streamlined real estate transactions for both buyers and sellers. He regularly deals with complex real estate commercial transactions efficiently and effectively. He represents developers, lenders, and borrowers. Extensive expertise in Foreclosures and all levels of real estate litigation.
Harvey J. Sepler, J.D., Ph.D., is a seasoned appellate lawyer with decades of experience in civil, commercial, and criminal defense. He has personally litigated over 1400 civil and criminal appeals in all of Florida’s appellate courts and has obtained unanimous decisions in the United States Supreme Court and the Florida Supreme Court. In addition to his frequent occurrence in Florida Super Lawyers and Florida Elite, he is a Fellow in the prestigious American Academy of Appellate Lawyers
Federico is the Managing Director of LegalKap and serves as ALGO’s Chile attorney. With more than 15 years of experience in wealth structuring, mitigation, corporate and international business law, he works heavily with offshore multi-jurisdictional transactions, cross border tax advisory and immigation, counseling foreign and domestic companies, and coordinates tax systems and treaties in various jurisdictions. Federico represents transnational companies, high-net worth individuals, foreign corporations, and family offices from numerous countries around the world like Chile, China, Spain, and the United States.
Laurel is the Managing Partner of the Grass Law Group PLLC and serves as ALGO’s New York and Pennsylvania attorney. She served as a prosecutor for more than 20 years, spearheading the Economic Crime, Forfeiture, Money Laundering, and Counter-Terrorism Units. Laurel is a skilled litigator who represents companies facing varied anti-fraud protection, due diligence, and internal securities matters. She advises both small and large companies on matters of corporate formation, structuring and sub-structuring, debt and equity instruments, consumer protection and corporate compliance, with a recent focus on Eurasia, Israel, and the Middle East, and the Far East.
Willie is an experienced criminal trial and appellate defense attorney. He vigorously represents persons under investigation or accused of crimes in New York, including the federal district courts in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He is available to appear pro hac vice in other federal courts around the country and admitted to the bars of the Second and Fourth Circuit Courts of Appeal. Willie is regularly contacted by other attorneys to help prepare and litigate pretrial motions and sentencing objections and memorandum, especially in white-collar, drug trafficking, and money laundering crimes. He has an extensive background in post-conviction relief and advising persons sentenced to federal prison (and their families) on how best to prepare for their voluntary surrender to the designated Federal Bureau of Prison institution.
Luis is an honorably retired Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) Lieutenant who served the community for 32 years. Prior to joining ALGO, he was Assistant General Counsel for the South Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA). He specializes in labor and employment law for public sector employees and local governments, criminal defense, and family law.
Based in Tallahassee, Florida, Mr. Murray has more than 20 years of legal experience in appellate, administrative, and criminal law. Mr. Murray interned with the Florida Supreme Court during law school and was a career staff attorney for the Honorable Judge Michael Allen at the First District Court of Appeal for ten years, before opening his own firm in 2009. Mr. Murray dedicates the bulk of his practice to representing private post-secondary educational institutions in the State of Florida, and specializes in issues involving the Florida Commission for Independent Education and the Florida Board of Nursing. Mr. Murray is also a registered lobbyist, providing government relations and advocacy for his clients with Florida's legislative and executive branches.
Nick has over 30 years of experience as Senior Executive of dynamic businesses including roles such as Administrator, General Manager, Chief Financial Officer, and In-House Counsel. He is a skilled leader, motivator, and problem solver that works to create opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and increase bottom line. He advises on business turn-around strategies, business succession plans, business development and tax planning, and forensic auditing. His work is always customized to the most stringent goals of the company to take it to the next level.
Destini Fernandez is a third-year student at the University of Miami School of Law and serves as ALGO’s law clerk. She previously interned for the Honorable Roy K. Altman of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Prior to starting at ALGO, she served as a law clerk to a Florida corporate and insurance defense litigation firm.
