He brings a distinctive perspective shaped by decades of military and law enforcement leadership before entering the legal profession.

Prior to attending law school, Gavin honorably retired as a Chief Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where he served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Chief Enlisted Manager. He served in combat operations and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He also concluded a distinguished career with Miami-Dade Corrections, specializing in electronic monitoring and house arrest operations.

Gavin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University College of Law and was a member of FIU’s nationally-ranked trial team, competing in the 2024 Online National Championship. He received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in multiple subjects, including Contracts. He is admitted to practice in Florida state court and federal court in the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.

In addition, Gavin has served for more than 20 years as an adjunct instructor at Miami Dade College School of Justice, where he teaches both new cadets and seasoned law enforcement officers.
